Mark Birman

Mark Birman is a highly experienced professional in the field of engineering and technology, currently serving as Technical Director at Broadcom since February 2012, following the acquisition of NetLogic Microsystems. Birman held the position of Director of Engineering at NetLogic Microsystems from February 2006 to February 2012, where the focus was on developing Deep Packet Inspection coprocessors for networking. Prior to that, Birman was the Director of Engineering at Cypress Semiconductor from February 2002 to February 2006, concentrating on algorithmic search coprocessors. Birman also served as CEO of Sahasra Networks, which specialized in networking coprocessor development before being acquired by Cypress. Earlier roles include Vice President of Engineering at Hifn, President at SiMart, and Director of Engineering at 8x8, Inc. Mark Birman began a career in engineering as a Project Manager at Weitek, and holds both MS and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
