Rob McConnell has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and architecture, primarily in the digital television and semiconductor industries. Currently serving as Associate Technical Director at Broadcom since January 2005, Rob oversees Android MediaCas security architecture and power management for ARM/MIPS STBs, along with the RPMB security architecture for trusted applications. Previous roles at Broadcom include Senior Principal Software Engineer and Principal Software Architect, where responsibilities encompassed Android media frameworks and European DTV standards. Prior to Broadcom, Rob worked at Zarlink Semiconductor and Hitachi Home Electronics Europe Ltd., contributing to the development of Linux device drivers and award-winning television software. Rob holds a Bachelor's degree with honors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Salford.
