Brian Cooper has held various roles throughout their work experience. Brian started their career as an Intermediate Auditor at KPMG Canada in 1987, followed by a Senior Auditor role at Deloitte Canada from 1990 to 1992. Brian then worked as a Treasury Assistant at Labatt Breweries of Canada in 1994 and as a Summer Associate at Harrowston Inc. in 1995. In 1996, they held a Summer Associate position at Merrill Lynch before becoming a Director at the company in 1997. From 2005 to 2012, Brian worked at CIBC World Markets, starting as a Managing Director and later becoming Head of Corporate and High Net Worth Equity Derivatives and Co-Head of Corporate and High Net Worth Derivatives. In 2013, they joined DMC Mining Services as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, a role they held until 2018. Lastly, Brian is currently the Chief Financial Officer at BroadGrain Commodities Inc.
Brian Cooper holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Honours Accountancy Studies from the University of Waterloo, which they obtained from 1986 to 1991. Brian also obtained a Master of Accounting (M.Acc.) degree from the University of Waterloo in 1991. Brian further pursued their education at Western University, where they earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, both from 1993 to 1997. Additionally, they have obtained certifications as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) in 1991 and as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) in 1992.
