BrocStar™ is developing science-backed food with clear health benefits.

Our first product is a unique soup, made from a non-GM broccoli, rich in the naturally occurring compound Glucoraphanin. Our unique variety - GRextra, contains roughly 5x the amount of glucoraphanin than standard varieties.  Glucoraphanin converts to Sulforaphane when eaten.  Glucoraphanin and Sulforaphane have been widely researched for decades for their beneficial effects on our health across a variety of areas.

Published research by our lead scientist, Professor Richard Mithen, at the Quadram Institute has been undertaken to further develop the evidence base on the health benefits of these two naturally occurring compounds on various age-related chronic conditions including high blood sugar and prostate cancer. Since one bowl of BrocStar soup contains much more glucoraphanin than any other product on the market, it’s the most efficient way for anyone to add this powerful active ingredient to their diet.

Once we’ve collected enough scientific evidence, we’re hoping to secure a proprietary health claim from the European Food Safety Authority and other regulatory bodies around the world.
