James Finley is the CEO of Broken Circle Studios, a position they have held since April 2019. Prior to that, they were the Studio Director of North America for Unity from May 2014 to April 2019. In this role, James was responsible for providing the highest quality customer service, engineering, and support to clients in need of Unity application development. James also communicated and collaborated directly with Unity Studios Headquarters in Denmark.
From July 2010 to January 2012, James was the Assistant Academic Director of Game Programming at The Art Institute of California-Los Angeles. In this role, they led faculty in the areas of game architectural design general programming concepts.
From March 2010 to October 2010, James was a Professor of 3D Script Programming at The Art Institutes. In this role, they taught students how to use MEL, Python, Kismet, and other practical languages towards the development of Video Game content.
Prior to their work at Broken Circle Studios, James was the Game Director for Marvel Puzzle Quest. James has also served as a Professor of Computer Graphics and Animation at San Bernardino Valley College from August 2008 to January 2011 and as an Associate Producer of Software Development at Aptus Games from December 2007 to November 2008.
James Finley has a Master of Fine Arts in Game Design from Laguna College of Art and Design, a Master's Degree in Software Engineering from California State University, Fullerton, and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Systems from California State University-San Bernardino.
