Patrick van Eijk is a co-founder and staff scientist at Broken String Biosciences Ltd, where they lead and conduct research in genome stability and gene editing using INDUCE-seq. They maintain the research alliance between the company’s Cambridge and Cardiff labs and spearhead 30+ academic collaborations leveraging INDUCE-seq, including embedding the technology in early-access customer labs. In 2022 they held an Honorary Research Fellow position at Cardiff University to continue collaborations using the INDUCE-seq technology. From 2014 to 2021 they were a Research Associate at Cardiff University, studying genome-wide chromatin structure in the context of DNA repair and DNA damage induction and co-supervising multiple PhD, undergraduate, and master’s students. They earned Master of Science degrees from Technische Universiteit Delft (Life Science & Technology, 2002–2007) and Universiteit Leiden (Functional Genomics, With Honors, 2002–2007), and completed A-levels at Montfort College (1996–2002).
