Simon Reed

Simon Reed has a diverse work experience in the field of biosciences and cancer studies. Simon is currently a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Broken String Biosciences Ltd, a position they have held since November 2020. Prior to this, Simon worked at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, where they held the roles of Professor and Reader in Cancer Studies starting in July 2013 and August 2009 respectively. Simon also worked as a Senior Lecturer at Cardiff University from August 2003. Before their time at Cardiff University, Simon was a Lecturer and MRC Fellow at Swansea University from January 2000 to August 2002. Simon began their career as a Post Doctoral Researcher and Fulbright Scholar at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, from February 1996 to December 1999.

Simon Reed completed their education at Swansea University from 1988 to 1995. During this time, they earned a PhD, BSc Hons[1] degree in Genetics.
