Edwin B Maxwell

Edwin B. Maxwell currently serves as a Commissioner for the NYC Civic Engagement Commission since August 2023 and has been the Director of Neighborhood Services at Brooklyn Public Library since August 2019. Previous roles include participating in the Coro Leadership New York Program and serving as Library Director at Wyandanch Public Library. Maxwell has extensive experience in library operations, overseeing branch operations, establishing goals, and building community partnerships, having held various positions at Brooklyn Public Library and The New York Public Library. Maxwell also has a background in education as an instructor of Information Literacy at ASA Institute of Business & Computer Technology. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Library & Information Science from Queens College.
