Ashley Johnston

Dean, Community Life, History Teacher at BROOKS SCHOOL

Ashley Johnston is the current Dean of Community Life and a Theirtory Teacher at BROOKS SCHOOL. Ashley previously worked as a Theirtory Teacher at Kimball Union Academy from July 2007 to June 2012. During their time at Kimball Union Academy, Ashley also served as an admissions intern, head coach for varsity women's ice hockey and junior varsity lacrosse, and assistant coach for varsity soccer, varsity lacrosse, and junior varsity soccer. In addition, Ashley participated in CWRA Conference at St. Andrews School and helped to incorporate it into the KUA curriculum.

Ashley has also served on the Curriculum Development Committee, Honor Board, Athletic Council, NEASC Residential Program Committee, and Critical Friends Group at Kimball Union Academy. Ashley has mentored a new faculty member in the Mentor/Mentee Program and served as a Faculty Advisor to the Club: Forever in Our Hearts (for premature babies). Ashley has also aided in the facilitation of the Student Life Programs, supervised students in dormitory, and advised seven students as a liaison between them, their parents, and the school.

Prior to working at Kimball Union Academy, Ashley was a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Colgate University from March 2007 to May 2007.

Ashley Johnston attended Tabor Academy for their high school diploma. Ashley then went on to Colgate University and studied Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology before moving on to Boston University for their M.Ed in Curriculum and Teaching.

Ashley Johnston reports to John R. Packard Jr., Head of School. They are on a team with Babette Wheelden - Arts Department Chair, Director of Robert Lehman Art Gallery, Peter Neissa - Chair of World Languages Department, Spanish Teacher, and Michael Bruschi - Director of Music.
