Established in 1849 by the haberdashers and drapers, Hugh Brown and James Thomas, Brown Thomas was from the outset, a name that is synonymous with luxury, integrity and beauty.  Almost immediately, Brown Thomas became a landmark store with customers returning for a retail experience that was stylish, sophisticated and brimming with flair.  In 1971, over a century after Brown Thomas first opened its doors, Galen and Hilary Weston bought the iconic premises and set about transforming it into a store to rival the best in the world.  

Today the Brown Thomas ethos finds expression through its many departments, each individually designed with the very best retail experience in mind.  We have four iconic department stores in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway and two BT2 branded fashion stores in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and Dundrum Town Centre.  

As part of Selfridges Group, Brown Thomas joins Holt Renfrew in Canada, Selfridges in the UK, de Bijenkorf in the Netherlands and most recently Arnotts in Dublin. Together we provide leading luxury shopping experiences for our customers around the world.
