Ian Forth

Animation Specialist at Brud

Ian Forth has had a varied career in the entertainment industry, beginning in 2010 as an Instructor at the Art Institute of Los Angeles. Ian then moved to Musicians Institute in 2014, where they worked as a 3D Instructor, Maya Cinema 4D Animation professor, and Animation program coordinator. In 2016, they became an Art Director at The Walt Disney Company, where they evaluated and selected scenes for pacing, entertainment value and continuity, trimmed shots, and edited content. In 2017, they took on Art Director roles at both Mattel, Inc. and BOSA - bureau of story art. The following year, they became a Storyboard Artist at Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, revising and updating sequences in Storyboard Pro. In 2019, they worked as an Animation Specialist at Brud, working closely with team leaders to define and achieve the vision for animation style. In 2020, they were a Pre Vis Artist for Tom Hanks film "Greyhound" at The Playtone Company, and also worked as a Previs Layout Artist at Day for Nite. Finally, in 2022, they became an Art Director at Marvel Entertainment.

Ian Forth attended the School of Visual Arts from 1984 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Illustration. Ian then attended the Academy of Art University from 1991 to 1993, where they earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Illustration.
