Paul Hebert

Paul Hebert is an esteemed academic and medical professional serving as a Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa since March 2021. In addition to this role, Paul holds positions as a Senior Scientist at the Bruyere Research Institute and a Palliative Care Physician at Bruyère, both of which began in 2021 and 2019, respectively. Paul's extensive experience in research is further underscored by a long-standing role as a Senior Research Scientist at the Centre de recherche du CHUM since 2013. Previously, Paul was the Scientific Director for the Ontario Public Health Emergencies Science Advisory Committee Secretariat and the Chief Medical and Science Advisor at the Canadian Red Cross. Additionally, Paul has contributed as a Philanthropic Chair and Professor at the Université de Montréal and has held leadership roles in critical care research and practice. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ottawa and advanced degrees in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Administration from the University of British Columbia and McGill University, respectively.
