The BSF (Betancourt Scholarship Fund, Inc.) is a Florida registered non-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. The primary purpose of the non-profit is to award a(n) tuition based scholarship that is aimed towards first generation college students. The scholarship is currently open to graduating seniors from Colonial High School in Orlando, FL. Scholarship applicants need to demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.0, write a 500 word essay, and be a first generation college student (neither parent has obtained a college degree).  In addition to a monetary award, the recipients will also receive invaluable guidance on career options, college major selection, and resources available to assist the student succeed both academically and professionally. Guidance will also take form in Resume writing, Interviewing Feedback, Personal Brand Management, and overall networking and career development.
