Andy Rhoades serves as the Lead Subsurface Utility Engineer and SHEQ Advisor at Thames Water since August 2021, and also holds the position of Lead Construction Assurance and Integration Engineer. Rhoades has been a PAS128:2022 Technical Author at BSI since May 2019 and a Board Member of the ICE Geospatial Engineering Panel since April 2017. Additionally, Rhoades is a Steering Group member of the PAS128 standard in Utility Surveying at the British Standards Institute BSI-KSA and has been instrumental in the development of the PAS256:2017 standard for buried assets. As the Director and Senior Consultant at Buried Asset Protection Consultancy Ltd from January 2018 to December 2023, Rhoades focuses on safeguarding buried infrastructure during construction. Previous roles include participation in the Utility Survey Exchange Stakeholder Group and the Buried Asset Centre of Knowledge board, as well as founding membership in the Utility Strike Avoidance Group. Rhoades served as Head of Service Protection at LHR Airports Limited and as Service Protection Manager at BAA. Education includes certification as an ISO9001 Lead Auditor.
