Stephen Hicks

Stephen Hicks is a Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Warwick since August 2019 and serves as the Discipline Stream Leader for Civil and Environmental Engineering. Hicks has extensive experience in design standards for composite steel and concrete structures, holding prominent roles such as Chair of CEN/TC250/SC4 Eurocode 4 and UK Delegate in multiple committees. In addition to academic roles, Hicks is actively involved in various standards organizations, including BSI, IABSE, ECCS, and Standards Australia, contributing to the development of British and international standards for structural engineering. Hicks holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and has an extensive educational background in civil engineering, reinforced by key leadership and committee positions in national and international organizations.
