Paul Bassel

Paul Bassel, MD, is an accomplished Epic Certified Physician Builder at Baylor Scott & White Health since September 2013, specializing in the development of customized clinical workflows across Pediatrics and Adult primary care within the Epic electronic health record. In addition to serving as Physician Informatics Leader, Paul holds multiple leadership roles, including clinical director of the BSWH NTX division patient portal and co-chair of the Epic SmartData Elements committee. Since August 1994, Paul has also contributed to HealthTexas Provider Network as Clinical Coordinator of Information Technology, overseeing EHR content design and training. As a pediatrician and President of Pediatric and Adolescent Associates of Garland, Paul has championed pediatric quality improvement initiatives. Education credentials include a Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from The University of Texas at Austin.
