John Ellerton

John Ellerton is the Head of Futures and Innovation at BT Media & Broadcast and has served as Chair of the SMPTE UK since 2021. With over 25 years of experience in the media and broadcast industry, they have progressed from a systems engineer to leading strategic technical direction for BT's major media clients. John previously worked at Telenor Group, where they were responsible for managing broadcast systems and client relationships. They earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Salford and a Master’s degree from Ecole Centrale de Lyon.
