Richard Start

Richard Start is an accomplished procurement professional with extensive experience in managing supply chains and optimizing spend across various sectors. Currently serving as the Head of UK Corporate & Public Sector Procurement at BT Group since May 2018, Richard has successfully led procurement initiatives for significant public sector B2B projects and contracts. Prior roles include Senior Manager for UK Procurement and Procurement Manager for Plusnet, where responsibilities encompassed managing approximately £90 million in third-party spending. Richard's earlier career includes positions at SSE plc as Category Manager and Balfour Beatty Services as Category Lead and Buyer. Richard's foundational experience in procurement began at AutoRestore® and ADR Accident Repair Centres Ltd, following an educational background in Business Studies from Sheffield Hallam University.
