Donny Smith has a long and varied work experience, beginning with their studies at Art Center College of Design in 2007. From 2001 to 2007, they worked in operations at Nixon Watches. In 2009, they became a Designer at TBWA\\Chiat\\Day, where they were responsible for the conception, art direction, and design of advertising and packaging materials. In 2011, they worked as a Brand Designer at Volvo Car Corporation and as a Sr. Designer at ViTRO, where they provided innovative ideas, concepts, and designs that met the brand's strategic needs. From 2012 to 2015, they were the Design Director at Mogl and a Sr. Designer at MiresBall. In 2015, they became the Sr. Design Director at Dollar Shave Club. From 2019 to 2022, they were the Principle Creative Director at AbbVie. Currently, they are the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at Bttr.

Donny Smith attended ArtCenter College of Design from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial and Product Design.
