Emil Benjamin is a seasoned filmmaker and educator with extensive experience in directing, writing, and producing across various media. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, Emil teaches Directing Actors I & II in the Film MFA program. As a filmmaker and the overseeing figure at Irrelevant Media LLC, Emil has contributed to projects screened and awarded at prominent film festivals worldwide. Emil also holds the position of Creative Director and Film Instructor at the School of Cinema and Performing Arts, guiding students through advanced filmmaking techniques. With commercial representation at Don Buchwald & Associates and a diverse background as a theatre artist, Emil's experience spans acting, directing, and managing various artistic and educational initiatives. Emil possesses a Master’s Degree in Film Directing/Screenwriting from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts from Boston University, complemented by additional training in physical theatre.
