Bud is an AI-powered nutrition intelligence platform that makes grocery shopping safer and smarter for the 85 million people in the US and Canada living with food allergies and dietary restrictions.

For people with conditions like Celiac disease, severe nut allergies, or strict dietary needs like Keto or Vegan, a single misread label can mean a hospital visit. Shoppers spend hours squinting at ingredient lists, second-guessing packaging claims, and dealing with decision fatigue every time they walk into a grocery store. Bud was built to eliminate that risk.

We enter the market with what we call the "Safety Wedge": a friction-free tool where users scan any product at the shelf and receive an instant, personalized Compatible or Avoid verdict based on their unique health profile. No searching. No guessing. Just a clear answer in seconds.

But safety is only the beginning. Bud is the foundation for a predictive Health Operating System that connects what you eat to how you feel. Our three-phase roadmap moves from product scanning (Phase 1) to nutritional transparency and ingredient intelligence (Phase 2) to a bio-feedback loop that correlates diet with symptoms and health outcomes over time (Phase 3).

What makes Bud different from other nutrition apps: most are passive calorie logs. Bud is an active agent. We intervene at the point of purchase, capturing high-fidelity data on real consumer behavior. Our Safety Engine detects the "Big 9" allergens and hidden derivatives that human eyes miss. Our Smart Swaps feature immediately recommends a compliant, in-stock alternative when a product is flagged. And our Self-Healing Engine turns every failed search into a proprietary data asset by indexing new products in real time.

Bud is co-founded by Amirhosein Soleimanian Mobaser (Electrical Engineering, York University) and Alexander He Meng (Computer Science, University of Toronto). We are currently designing our MVP and competing in the 2026 Hult Prize Nationals.
