Jerry Baker has been an executive search consultant for over 45 years. Prior to establishing Baker and Associates in 2007, he was a partner with Baker-Parker, Inc. for 16 years. He spent nine years as a Senior Partner and Member of the Board of Directors of Lamalie Associates. Before that, he was President of MSL International, the executive search division of The Hay Group, Inc., and, earlier, a Vice President with Billington, Fox & Ellis, Inc.

Jerry has conducted approximately 900 searches for a diverse corporate and not-for-profit clientele. He has served corporations in many industries but has significant experience in consumer-packaged goods, the food and beverage industry, consulting, commercial banking, and consumer durables. His searches have been for chief executive officers, senior corporate officers, division management, and most functional disciplines. He has conducted 450 searches in the academic and not-for-profit sector, including the positions of president, provost, dean, and vice president of most functional disciplines. Before becoming an executive search consultant, he was a member of the human resource staff of two major corporations.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Wake Forest University, currently serving on the Executive Committee, the Academic Affairs Committee, and the Compensation Committee. He recently was a member of the Overseers’ Committee to Visit the Divinity School of Harvard University, the Board of Visitors of the Wake Forest University Divinity School, the Council of University Resources at Harvard University, and the Dean’s Council at the Harvard Divinity School. He previously served as a member of the Board of Visitors of Wake Forest University, President of the Wake Forest University Parents’ Council, President of the Harvard Divinity School Alumni Association, a Director of the Harvard University Alumni Association, and member of the Board of Directors and Secretary/Treasurer of the Association of Executive Search Consultants. In 2007, he was recognized as the first recipient of the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award of the Harvard Divinity School.

Mr. Baker’s biography is included in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, and Who’s Who in the South & Southwest.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University and a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard University.
