Mars Gokturk

Mars Gokturk has a diverse background in data science and software engineering. In their most recent role at Bugcrowd, they served as a Data Scientist & Engineer, where they built and deployed models, conducted analysis, and developed web services for machine learning models. Prior to that, Mars took a sabbatical in 2020 to complete the MicroMasters in Data Science program offered by the University of California, San Diego. During this time, they worked on various data science projects, ranging from NLP analysis to predictive modeling for flight cancellations. Before their sabbatical, Mars worked as a Senior Software Development Engineer at Nordstrom, where they developed ETL pipelines and established best practices for data analysis. They also had experience as a Software Engineer at Clean Power Research, where they developed tools for data analysis and customer engagement. Mars Gokturk completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science and Systems from the University of Washington from 2012 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, Mars Gokturk obtained various certifications in the field of data science and artificial intelligence. They completed the "XCS224U - Natural Language Understanding" and "XCS221 - Artificial Intelligence: Principles and Techniques" courses from Stanford Online in April 2023 and January 2023, respectively. They also obtained a "Micro Masters in Data Science" and completed courses in "DSE220x: Machine Learning Fundamentals," "DSE230x: Big Data Analytics Using Spark," "DSE210x: Probability and Statistics in Data Science using Python," and "DSE200x: Python for Data Science" from The University of California, San Diego on edX in 2021 and 2022. Additionally, Mars Gokturk obtained a certificate in "Fundamentals of Scalable Data Science" from Coursera in May 2021 and "Using Python For Research" from HarvardX in November 2017.
