Sofia Andrade

Sofia Andrade is an experienced civil engineer with a strong background in structural engineering and project management. Currently serving as the Leader Engineer for Colombia at Build Change since May 2021, Sofia supervises the development of technical resources aimed at reducing the structural vulnerability of informal housing while leading experimental test programs. Prior to this role, Sofia held various academic positions, including lecturer and assistant professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería 'Julio Garavito', and Universidad de La Salle, where courses focused on concrete design, sustainable construction, and engineering projects. Sofia has also worked as a project director at LINCE ANDINA SAS, leading teams in the planning and execution of projects, and has extensive experience in designing reinforced concrete structures in compliance with Colombian seismic standards. Sofia holds a Master's degree in civil engineering with a specialty in structural engineering and a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito.
