Jon Bates

Jon Bates is an experienced software engineer and platform engineer with a strong background in developing and optimizing backend systems and CI/CD pipelines. Currently serving as Lead Platform Engineer at Bumble Inc. since August 2022, Jon has designed and built the company's CI/CD pipeline and developed a service mesh to enhance developer workflows. Previously, as Senior Software Engineer at DELLI, Jon contributed to creating an online marketplace, implementing solutions for analytics and geospatial search. Jon's earlier roles include Senior Developer positions at Bumble and Zopa, where Jon worked on a variety of backend systems and devops practices, along with an extensive tenure at JustGiving and ILLY Systems. Jon holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of East Anglia.
