Oliver Markert

Oliver Markert serves as the Executive Director at BurdaForward since 2018, where responsibilities include leading innovative projects focused on integrating generative AI into workflows, designing a conventional news app, and developing a webinar platform. Additionally, Markert has been a member of the editorial board at FOCUS online since April 2025 and has held various positions at FOCUS online from 2008 to 2018, including Director of FOCUS Online Local and Head of Product (interim). Prior experience includes serving as Responsible Editor at Meininger Tageblatt from 2005 to 2008. Markert holds a Magister degree in Philosophy, Psychology, and Communication Science from Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, alongside additional studies at the University of West London.
