Michael Carter

Vice President, Engineering and Operations at Burnham RNG

Michael Carter is an experienced professional with over 15 years of work experience in various engineering and operations roles. Michael began their career at Diebold Nixdorf and then went to work for Parker Hannifin before moving onto Guilford Performance Textiles. At these organizations, they gained experience in material flow engineering and manufacturing engineering. In 2012, they joined Corning Incorporated, where they served as a process engineer, leading a team of 11 engineers and technicians in the Optical Communications Winston-Salem Plant, achieving an $8MM cost savings plan, and driving overall plant process yield up 12%. Michael then moved to Enviva LP, where they held multiple positions, including Director, Engineering (Centers of Excellence), Director, Mid-Atlantic Operations, and Director, Capital Projects. Michael's last role at Motus Integrated Technologies was as a Senior Integration Manager, where they served for over two years. Currently, Michael is serving as the Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Burnham RNG.

Michael Carter received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003, and then continued their education at the same institution to obtain a Master of Science degree in the same field in 2004. Michael also holds various certifications including Lean Master Certification from Guilford Performance Textiles, TPM Certification from Productivity Inc., and Lean Manufacturing Certification from the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
