Mike Stopka is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainability, strategy, and advisory roles. Currently serving as Principal of the Advisory Practice at Buro Happold since 2025, Mike has a strong focus on integrating strategy with engineering analysis and organizational change in complex projects. As a Strategic Advisor at Brightwater and Evergreen Climate Innovations, Mike provides guidance on start-up operations and investment opportunities related to climate and sustainability. Previously, Mike held key positions including VP of Impact at ADEC Innovations, Principal of ESG & Sustainability Consulting at Buro Happold, Director of Sustainability at The University of Chicago, and founder of MIST Environment. An accomplished educator, Mike also taught sustainability leadership courses at Northwestern University and Loyola University Chicago. Mike holds a Master's degree in Design & Environmental Studies from Clemson University and an Executive Program for Emerging Leaders from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
