Simon Downing is a seasoned professional in fire engineering with extensive experience in leadership roles. Currently serving as the Director and Global Discipline Leader for Fire Engineering at Buro Happold since May 2023, Simon also holds the position of UK Discipline Leader within the same company. Prior to this, Simon was the Regional Director at BB7 Fire & Security Consulting from April 2021 to May 2023 and held various positions including Associate Director and Associate Fire Engineer at WSP in the UK from September 2018 to April 2021. Simon's career began at RPS Europe, where responsibilities included serving as Senior Fire Engineer from September 2009 to August 2018. Academically, Simon earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from The University of Manchester and a Master’s degree in Fire Safety Engineering from the University of Lancashire.
