Tom Newby

Tom Newby is an accomplished engineering professional currently serving as Director and London Structural Discipline Leader at Buro Happold since April 2019, where leadership is provided to the London Structures group. Previous experience includes significant roles at CARE International UK from December 2013 to April 2019, culminating in the position of Interim Policy Director, overseeing various technical, policy, and advocacy teams, and leading humanitarian efforts. Prior to this, Tom held a Senior Engineer position at Expedition Engineering and worked on numerous high-profile projects, including major stadia and iconic structures, as well as serving as a Technical Supervisor in Haiti for Habitat for Humanity. Tom's foundational education in engineering was completed with a MA and MEng from the University of Cambridge.
