Prior to that, they were the Central HMDA Manager at PenFed Credit Union, where they successfully established the credit union's first Central HMDA department and ensured compliance with HMDA requirements.

Before their role at PenFed Credit Union, Desiree worked as an AVP - Senior Compliance Officer at Deutsche Bank, where they conducted compliance reviews, developed testing modules, and analyzed compliance management systems. Desiree also held multiple positions at HomeStreet Bank, including AVP - Compliance Analyst III and Project Manager, AVP - Compliance Assistant Manager, and AVP - Compliance Lead. Desiree H. obtained their high school education from Marysville Pilchuck High School in 1989, where they graduated with honors. Desiree later attended the ICBA Compliance Institute from 2012 to 2023, earning the Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer (CCBCO) degree in Specialized Knowledge & Applications. In 2019, they pursued further education in mortgage compliance and obtained the Mortgage Compliance Achievement Certificate: Level I from the Mortgage Bankers Association. Desiree also attended various conferences and virtual events related to risk management and internal audit, including the RMA Annual Risk Management and Internal Audit Virtual Conference organized by the Risk Management Association in 2022, and the Annual Current Issues/Certification Conference organized by the Independent Community Bankers of America in the same year. Additionally, Desiree participated in the Risk and Compliance Virtual Conference organized by the American Bankers Association in 2020.
