Philip Murphy

Philip Murphy is an experienced tax professional currently serving as the Vice President and Director of Corporate Tax at Busey since August 2025. Prior to this role, Philip held the position of Vice President at Calumet Specialty from October 2012 to August 2025 and at Morgan Stanley from February 2005 to October 2012. Philip began a career in tax advisory as an Advanced Staff Tax Accountant at American Express Tax and Business Services, Inc. from November 2003 to February 2005. Philip holds a Master of Science in Taxation with a specialization in Taxation (MST) earned in 2006 and two undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in Finance, both obtained in 2003 from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
