Leonard Wright II has extensive experience in IT compliance and privacy management. Leonard is currently working as an IT Compliance and Privacy Manager at ButcherBox since February 2021. Prior to this, they worked at CareerBuilder as an IT Compliance Manager from December 2019 to February 2021, where they played a key role in implementing the organizational privacy strategy and addressing evolving privacy risks. Leonard also managed DSAR requests using OneTrust. Before CareerBuilder, Leonard worked as an Independent InfoSec Consultant/Advisor from February 2018 to December 2019, providing advisory services on regulatory compliance and audit examinations. Leonard has also served as a Sr. INFOSEC Advisor & Compliance Manager at Secureworks from March 2012 to February 2018, where they managed external communications and coordinated compliance briefings for clients. Leonard started their career at IBM as a Sr. Technical Writer from October 2008 to March 2012, where they developed documentation for security operations and disaster recovery processes. Leonard also gathered information for FFIEC compliance documentation. Prior to IBM, they worked at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. as a Technical Writer III from September 2006 to September 2008, developing operation manuals and training materials. Leonard has also worked as a Technical Writer II at Lamback & Associates, Inc. from December 2003 to August 2006, writing Request for Proposal documents and developing content delivery methodologies. Leonard began their career at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General, where they served as a Congressional Communications Specialist from February 2001 to December 2003, maintaining liaison with congressional offices and writing reports and RFP documents. Leonard has a strong background in technical writing, compliance management, and privacy strategy implementation.

Leonard Wright II attended Cass Technical High School from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Diploma in Business Administration. Later, they pursued higher education at Georgia State University from 1999 to 2006. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in English - Creative Writing. In addition to their formal education, Leonard has obtained several certifications. In 2013, they received an ITIL® Foundation certification from PEOPLECERT. Recently, they acquired multiple certifications related to privacy and vendor risk management, including the OneTrust Certified Privacy Professional and the OneTrust Vendor Risk Management Expert certifications, both attained in March 2021. Leonard also obtained a Diversity and Inclusion Certification from Cornell University in January 2022.
