Michael Hemphill

Michael Hemphill is an experienced marketing and communications professional with a diverse background spanning various organizations in the nonprofit and education sectors. Currently, as the Creator and Host of BUZZ, a TV show on Blue Ridge PBS since October 2019, Hemphill highlights the impactful work of nonprofit organizations and marketing strategies. Previous roles include Marketing Specialist at the Regional Accelerator and Mentoring Program, Director of Marketing and the Annual Fund at Roanoke Catholic School, and Director of Development and Marketing at the Science Museum of Western Virginia, where notable achievements include organizing the first Virginia Science Festival. Hemphill has also served as Executive Director of the Mountain Valley Charitable Foundation and held positions in public relations, journalism, and freelance writing, earning multiple journalism awards. Hemphill holds a B.A. in English from Birmingham-Southern College and an M.A. in Creative Writing from The University of Southern Mississippi.
