Gilad Lotan

Gilad Lotan is the current VP, Head of Data Science & Analytics at BuzzFeed. Gilad has held this position since November 2016. Prior to BuzzFeed, they were at betaworks from April 2013 to November 2016 as the chief data scientist. From March 2011 to March 2013, they were the Vice President of Research & Development at SocialFlow. Gilad was also a Program Manager at Microsoft from January 2009 to March 2011. Gilad's first industry job was at Endemol USA as a Data Product Manager from April 2008 to December 2008. Gilad started their career as a researcher - technologist in IDF Intelligence Corps from January 1996 to December 1999.

Gilad Lotan studied at Tel Aviv University where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and economics. Gilad then went on to study at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University, where they received an MpS degree.

They are on a team with Clément Huyghebaert - Senior Director of Engineering, Justin Hines - Director of Engineering & Machine Learning, and Matt Greenwell - Director of Engineering. and Archi Mitra - Director of Data Science reports to Gilad Lotan. Their manager is Peter Wang, CTO.
