Shane “Buzz” Sarlin

Shane “Buzz” Sarlin is a seasoned leader in Australia's Defence and Space Industry, currently serving as the Managing Director of Buzzworks since August 2020, where innovation and strategic development play a crucial role. Additionally, Shane holds the position of Principal Designer and Co-founder at the Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN) QLD and serves as a committee member focused on advocating for defence SMEs. With a strong background at Deloitte Consulting, Shane advanced through several leadership roles to support the Defence, Energy & Resources sectors, prioritizing national operations and industry best practices. Shane previously managed significant programs for the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group and held various leadership positions within the Australian Army, demonstrating expertise in operations, logistics, and strategic communications. Educational qualifications include an MBA from UNSW and multiple certifications in project management and military operations.
