Alex Bauer

Alex Bauer serves as a Mechanical System Design Engineer at BWX Technologies, Inc. since October 2022, focusing on the design of mechanical systems for advanced reactors and leading teams on projects for commercial, DOD, and NASA applications. Prior experience includes a decade at Dominion Energy, where Alex held roles as Consulting Engineer and Nuclear Engineer II, leading engineering efforts in the Primary Systems group and component cooling systems. Alex also worked at Newport News Shipbuilding in Nuclear Construction Engineering, overseeing critical components for Virginia Class Nuclear Submarines, and began a career as a Co-op Engineer at Alloy Polymers, Inc., managing production lines and recycling initiatives. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University, earned in 2008.
