Toby Smith

Toby Smith is the SVP & General Counsel at BWXT, a position held since 2025, where they also serve as Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer. Previously, Toby worked at Otis Elevator Company, rising to the role of Senior Vice President & Corporate Secretary from 2021 to 2025, and held various legal positions at United Technologies Corporation, including as Senior Counsel from 2014 to 2017 and Assistant General Counsel for International Trade Compliance from 2012 to 2014. Toby began their career as an Associate in Litigation at Hogan & Hartson LLP from 2004 to 2010. They earned a JD from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004 and a BA in Foreign Languages and Government from Hamilton College in 1996.
