Byggmeister is a design/build firm committed to being an exemplary steward of New England’s existing homes. We specialize in renovating older houses to meet today’s needs while honoring their architectural character and reducing their environmental impact.

Founded in 1983 by a group of friends with little more than curiosity, idealism, and charter subscriptions to Fine Homebuilding, we’ve grown into a team of experienced, thoughtful professionals. Four decades later, we’re still just as passionate about making homes more livable, comfortable, durable, and energy efficient - with every project grounded in care, collaboration, and respect for what’s already there.
