Lu Lu currently serves as Research Lead of Audio/Speech/Multimodal LLM at ByteDance since December 2022. Prior to this position, Lu co-founded Shanghai Xueba Technologies and worked as Chief AI Research Scientist from November 2021 to November 2022. Lu held the role of Director of Speech AI at Alibaba Group from October 2019 to October 2021 and was an AI Research Scientist at Facebook from November 2016 to October 2019, focusing on automatic speech recognition and voice control technologies. Lu's earlier experience includes serving as ML Algorithm Tech Lead at Intel Corporation, specializing in signal processing and ML algorithms for Bluetooth systems, and working as a Staff Signal Processing and ML Algorithm Engineer at LSI, where extensive research contributions were made to data storage systems. Lu has filed multiple US patents in signal processing and machine learning across various roles.
