Yang Liu

Yang Liu is a Senior Research Engineer and Tech Lead at ByteDance since December 2020, where responsibilities include leading a team focused on ensuring safety, security, and privacy for large language models (LLMs) and AI agents, as well as developing distributed systems that address these issues using advanced statistical and cryptographic theories. Previously, in a Research Engineer role at Tencent from January 2019 to December 2020, Yang Liu specialized in creating machine learning and federated learning systems that enable privacy-preserving AI model training and deployment. Yang Liu holds a PhD in Distributed Computing and Machine Learning from The Australian National University (2015-2019) and a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University (2011-2015).
