Yi Cao is a Performance and Capacity Engineer at ByteDance, working since March 2020 on global infrastructure for TikTok with expertise in CDN, Kubernetes, SRE, systems, and networking. Prior to this role, Yi worked at Stony Brook University from August 2014 to February 2020 as a Research Assistant focusing on network performance research and served as a Teaching Assistant for multiple computer science courses. Additionally, Yi completed a research internship at Brave Software in the summer of 2018, investigating performance in Chromium-based browsers. Yi holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
