C-CORE

Freeman Ralph has over 20 years of experience in ice engineering and Arctic resource development. Freeman started their career at C-CORE in 1999 as an Ice Engineer and later became the Director of Ice Engineering. In 2011, they joined C-CORE / Memorial University as a Senior Ice Engineer while pursuing their PhD. In 2014, they returned to C-CORE as the Executive Director of the Centre for Arctic Resource Development. Freeman also served as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Oceans and Energy.

Freeman Ralph has a diverse education history. Freeman attended the Smiths School of Business at Queens University, but it is unclear when they attended or if they obtained a degree or pursued a specific field of study there. Following this, they enrolled at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 1996. Freeman then pursued a Master's degree in Ocean and Ice Engineering at the same institution, completing it in 1999. In their academic journey, they continued to advance their knowledge and expertise by undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, specializing in Risk Analysis, Arctic Shipping, Ice Engineering, and Ship Structures. Freeman successfully completed this degree by the end of 2016.
