Heather Date

Heather Date has extensive experience in communications and media, beginning with an internship at ABC News in 1998 and progressing to key leadership roles at various institutions. At the University of Maryland Global Campus, Heather served as Associate Vice President for Communications and later as Vice President for Communications and Engagement, where successful strategies were implemented to enhance both internal and external communications. Additional experience includes a Senior Account Executive position at Hill & Knowlton, where leadership was demonstrated in managing campaigns for the EPA's Energy Star sustainability program, and a role as Associate Director and Producer at The George Washington University's Global Media Institute, focusing on the development of award-winning media content. Heather's background also includes significant contributions at CNN, where multiple high-profile public affairs programs were produced. Currently serving as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff at C-SPAN, Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Communication from The George Washington University, graduating cum laude.
