Peter Knowles

Peter Knowles is an experienced journalist and media professional with a robust background in political broadcasting. Currently serving as Westminster Correspondent for C-SPAN since June 2021, Knowles also provides consultancy on democracy-building projects with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy. Knowles' extensive career at BBC spanned from 1990 to 2021, culminating as Controller of BBC Parliament, overseeing a significant monthly reach and leading a team of 30 with a budget of £4 million. Prior roles at BBC include Channel Editor and Managing Editor, with significant contributions during major historical events. Knowles holds a first-class honors degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford, an MBA with Distinction from the University of Bradford, and a Foundation Degree in Contextual Theology from the University of Chester.
