McLaughlin is the President of McLaughlin Global Associates LLC (since 2017) and the CEO of C Speed, LLC (since 2025), advising senior executives and corporate boards on cyberspace and space operations, cyber defense, risk management, and strategy. McLaughlin also serves as Vice Chairman of the Civil Air Patrol Board of Governors and is a board member for Feed-The-Need Missions. In previous roles, McLaughlin served as Deputy Commander of United States Cyber Command from 2014 to 2017, leading over 12,000 military personnel in global cyberspace operations and overseeing the creation, training, and certification of all 133 DoD cyber teams. Education includes a Bachelor of Science from the United States Air Force Academy (1983) and a Master of Arts in Space Systems Management from Webster University (1988).
