Matthew Capizzi

Matthew Capizzi is an accomplished product leader with a diverse background in building and scaling consumer marketplace businesses. Currently serving as a Product Leader at Square since September 2020, Matthew has been instrumental in creating Square Local, the company's first network-wide cash back program, which enhances user acquisition and growth for both Square and Cash App. Previously, Matthew founded and led Zenrez as CEO, raising $12 million and managing a team of over 40 individuals. As an advisor to various organizations including C2 Ventures and Otari, Matthew has contributed strategic insights to support early-stage companies through growth and acquisition phases. Matthew's extensive experience also includes a significant tenure at Life Technologies, where ownership of the TaqMan master mix product line, critical to the genomics field, was coupled with global marketing responsibilities. Educated at Carnegie Mellon University with an MBA, Matthew also holds a B.S. in Economics from UC Santa Barbara.
