Barbara Barros is a Senior Adaptation Finance Manager and City Advisor for Rio de Janeiro at C40 Cities, focusing on the development of the city's Sustainable Development and Climate Action Plan, utilizing the C40 Climate Planning Framework. Previous roles include Head of the Climate Adaptation Sector at the Prefeitura da Cidade do Recife, where Barbara coordinated the Climate Change Vulnerability Index and Adaptation Plan, and a researcher at CENTRO CLIMA/LIMA/COPPE/UFRJ, responsible for Rio de Janeiro's first Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. Barbara holds an Expert in Climate Adaptation Finance from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, a Master's Degree in Urban Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a Bachelor's in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Federal de Alagoas.
