Jonathan Ramayia

Jonathan Ramayia is a Climate Change Specialist with 15 years of experience in the climate change sector, focusing on public programs and pilot projects. They have contributed to sustainable energy policy development and various climate change mitigation projects, primarily within the eThekwini Municipality's Energy Office. At GIZ, Jonathan provided advisory services to the South African Department of Environmental Affairs and worked on projects related to climate change adaptation and green fiscal policy. Currently, they serve as the Head of the Africa-China climate cooperation program at C40 Cities, while previously establishing the Adaptive Capacity Facility at the South African Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries. Jonathan holds a Master's degree in Environmental Planning and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
