Jonathan Terrefe

Jonathan Terrefe is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Strategic Communications and Engagement Manager for C40 Cities since January 2025, where responsibilities include managing communications and campaigns for the Ports and Shipping programme. Prior to this role, Jonathan held the position of Senior Communications Officer at the International Growth Centre from March 2023 to January 2025, delivering global communication campaigns and coordinating large-scale events. Additional experience includes roles as a Research and Programme Officer at the LSE Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa, Project Manager and Speakers and Content Coordinator for the LSE Africa Summit, and internships with GIZ GmbH, UNU-EHS, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. Jonathan holds a Master of Science in Environment and Development from LSE and a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Social Sciences from Jacobs University Bremen, complementing a strong background in strategic communications and engagement in environmental and development contexts.
